Williams Lake Fire Department Respond To Early Morning Mill Fire
Fire fighters from the Williams Lake Fire Department (WLFD) were called the scene of a structure fire early on Monday morning in a hopper (chip bin) that feeds the woodchipper at the West Fraser mill on Soda Creek Road in Williams Lake. B.C. According to Chief Erick Peterson of the WLFD the initial call was received at 2:40 AM and the blaze was completely out by 6:00 AM. Peterson said the cause of the fire is unknown and not suspicious adding that damage was pretty much controlled. West Fraser has not yet commented on either the fire or its impact on the lumber mills production activity.
