Canfor Completes Sale of Fort St. John, BC, Sawmill Assets

Canfor has completed the sale of its shuttered sawmill operations in Fort St. John, BC, to Rocky Mountain Salvage, Energeticcity.ca reported (6-1-26).

Canfor representatives confirmed to Energeticcity.ca that the transaction includes the sawmill, planer, pellet plant, and energy systems.

Rocky Mountain Salvage is a scrap metal and recycling company with operations in Hinton and Edson, Alberta. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In a statement provided to Energeticcity.ca, Canfor said:

“Since announcing the closure of the Fort St. John sawmill in September of 2024, Canfor has worked to divest the site and assets. We understand the buyer wants to repurpose the site and provide some economic value to the region.”
