Canadian Lumber Production Declined in May

Statistics Canada (StatCan) reported on Friday (8-4-23) that sawmill production dropped in May. According to the report, Canadian lumber production declined 1.6% month-over-month to 4,008.9 thousand cubic meters in May. Year-over-year, production was down 13.8%.

StatCan reported that sawmills shipped 4,158.2 thousand cubic meters of lumber in May, up 5.7% from April but down 9.8% year-over-year.
