On Wednesday, Statistics Canada (StatCan) reported that Canadian lumber production increased 16.4% month-over-month to 3,996.3 thousand cubic meters in January. Year-over-year, production was 4.9% higher.
Sawmills shipped 3,893.4 thousand cubic meters of lumber in January—up 11.2% from December 2023 and up 5.7% from January 2023.
