Potential Home Buyers Believe Availability Will Improve in the Months Ahead

According to the latest National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) Housing Trends Report (HTR), 28% of prospective buyers in the third quarter of 2020 expected their search for a new or existing home would be easier in the months ahead. On the other hand, 61% indicated they thought it would be at best the same as now or worse. A year earlier, fewer than 21% expected availability to improve, while more than 68% thought it would be more difficult. Buyers improving outlook, according to the HTR seems to be based on strong new and existing homes sales in the summer of 2020.
