Home Prices in April Surge 14.6% Annually in New S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index

According to the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index, which covers all nine U.S. Census divisions, home prices experienced a 14.6% annual gain in April 2021, up from 13.3% in March. The 10-City Composite annual increase came in at 14.4%, up from 12.9% in the previous month. The 20-City Composite posted a 14.9% year-over-year gain, up from 13.4% in the previous month. All 20 cites reported higher prices increases in the year ending April 2021 when compared to the year ending March 2021. Leading the way in year-over-year price increases in March was Phoenix with a 22.3% gain, followed by San Diego with a 21.6% gain and Seattle with a 20.2% gain.
