On Saturday, an explosion was reported at Weyerhaeuser’s MDF mill in Columbia Falls, Montana, prompting an emergency response, NBC Montana reported.
Columbia Falls Fire Chief Karl Weeks said responders observed heavy smoke in the area but no visible flames. Witnesses reported seeing large flashes of light followed by three loud explosions.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation, and the facility is also conducting its own internal review. No injuries were reported.
