FABRIC and WRNS Studio Begin Design Work on California Mass Timber Plant

FABRIC Mass Timber, a Northern California firm, has partnered with WRNS Studio to begin design work on California’s first regenerative mass timber manufacturing facility in Redding.

The 200,000-square-foot vertically integrated plant will serve as FABRIC’s headquarters and flagship operation, combining consulting, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and demonstration under one roof.

FABRIC’s model sources timber from local Hazardous Fuel Reduction projects, developed with CalFire and the National Forest Service, to build a regional, low-carbon supply chain for mass timber.

The new facility is designed as a biophilic, adaptable industrial space intended to reduce carbon emissions at scale while supporting local employment and innovation. It will also act as a hub linking the design, construction, and forestry sectors with academia, policy makers, and workforce training programs to advance mass timber adoption statewide.
