ADP: Private Sector Employment and Compensation Increase in April
According to the ADP National Employment Report released on Wednesday, private sector employment increased by 109,000 jobs in April. Year-over-year, annual pay rose 4.4%.
The jobs report and pay insights use ADP’s fine-grained anonymized and aggregated payroll data to provide a representative picture of the private-sector labor market.
Commenting on the report, ADP Chief Economist Nela Richardson said:
“Small and large employers are hiring, but we’re seeing softness in the middle. Large companies have resources to deploy, and small ones are the most nimble, both important advantages in a complex labor environment.”
